The idea for WNY Gamers Club was formed sometime in 1998-1999 at one of the numerous almost monthly LAN Parties held in a small apartment in Clarence, NY and a garage in Hamburg, NY. The name was not around during those first years and little did we know but the core foundation was being built. A group of 12 to 18 attended these LAN's on a regular basis mainly to play the original Unreal Tournament, the days when everyone had their own skins, voice packs and stood out. In 2001 during one of the Clarence apartment LAN Party’s everyone was noticing that it was a packed house, at that time around 16 people, the suggestion came up to start a website to let people know when and where the next LAN Party would be. So wnygamersclub.com was registered and came to be. At first it was a simple site with information and pictures from previous frag fests, and then in 2003 the site expanded with the addition of forums and a face lift in 2004 to the main site. WNY Gamers Club has since grown with the addition of our larger LAN Party Extravaganza (LPE) events, which started in March of 2005 and drawing an attendance of over 60 gamers (PC and Console) at a time. These run along side of the smaller house LAN’s which have now moved from the old apartment and garage locations to a house basement in Tonawanda, NY. We try to hold all LAN Party’s on the 2nd Saturday of each month, with weather being unpredictable in WNY this sometimes becomes the biggest factor. The LPE events are scheduled quarterly (January, April, July and October), still holding to the 2nd Saturday schedule, held at the American Legion Post 205 on Delaware, Ave in Kenmore, NY just minutes from the City of Buffalo. All of our events are open to the public.

WNY Gamers Club has not only expanded through our site and events, we have also with the addition of several dedicated servers that allow people in our group to play daily with each other and others that join in off the net. WNYGamersClub.com is happy to support a ranked Battlefield 2 server (208.122.9.29) and F.E.A.R Combat server available 24/7. Other servers that you may see running include Battlefield 1942, Desert Combat Final, Battlefield Vietnam, Prey, Quake IV and Serious Sam II to name a few (Current Servers).

Anyone that would like to drop in and say hello feel free even if not in BF2. Also props goes out to all [=23=] and =ACT= members who have helped populate the BF2 Server, specially Tankgunner23, Tankcommander, M3talSyr3n, Darkdragon and everyone else. Thanks All!

Pitures from LPE V and VI will be up shortly So stay tuned. For those who did not know the forums have been upgraded for 2007, so check them out. January also seemed to be a busy month for posting with us setting a new record number of posts, 703 total for the month. We also tied the record number of new registrations of 17 last set in Febuary of 2003. Signup for LPE VII set for April 14th will be open soon, so keep and eye out for that. All in all 2007 seems to be starting out with a bang. Let keep it up

We're still growing!

As of January 31st, 2007, we have 206 members, Over 12770 posts and we've had several LAN parties! The most popular games where Unreal Tournament 2004, Half Life 2, F.E.A.R, Serious Sam 2, Call of Duty 2, Empire Earth 2, Toca 3, Battle Field 2 and Company of Hero's.

What the Future Holds

Currently we are growing and have establish a semi-permanent place for "Fragging", B.Ob's basement (Seats 25+ with lots of space to move about, 35+ if we had tables and chairs) and as more people want in, we want to accommodate everybody we possibly can. We don't want to say NO! We have now also settled on a date, the 2nd Saturday of EVERY MONTH, so leave this day of the month open and be ready to frag. We welcome all to attend these are not private events, specially are larger events currently being held at the Milton J. Brounshidle VFW Post 205, Lower Banquet Hall in Kenmore, 7NY (Seats 75+ with lots of space to move about), shooting for every 3rd month in 2007.

We've been meeting quite a few gamers in the area and one of the questions we've been asked is "Are we clan only?" Heck no! We are open to the public as stated above. We are here to have fun!
